Reverse Engineering & Mechatronics

We rebuild the part
your equipment can't
find anywhere else..

GarageLabs Mechatronics reverse-engineers obsolete mechanical and electrical parts — brackets, housings, gears, low-voltage PCBs, CAN sensor modules — and delivers a verified replacement, so your equipment keeps running instead of getting scrapped for one dead component.

01

Design It

Measure, capture, and recreate the part in CAD or schematic form.

02

Build It

3D-printed fit prototype or bench-tested board before final production.

03

Test It

Fit, function, and electrical checks documented before delivery.

04

Ship It

Verified replacement part shipped, or converted into a catalog listing.

What we do

Core capabilities

Every job runs through the same disciplines — the mix depends on what's broken.

Mechanical CAD

Measurement-driven recreation of brackets, housings, gears, mounts, and mating geometry.

Electronics & PCB

Board diagnosis, small repair, and full replacement PCB design for low-voltage systems.

Firmware

Clean-room firmware rewrite for interoperability with customer-owned hardware.

CAN / Embedded

CAN bus diagnostics, sensor integration, and custom embedded module prototypes.

Operating boundaries

What we take on

Scope discipline is a deliberate part of how this business runs — not every job is a fit, and we tell you before you pay for engineering time.

Green light
Low-to-moderate liability obsolete parts, non-branded replacements, brackets, knobs, housings, mounts, gears, small electronics repairs, low-voltage PCBs, CAN sensor modules, firmware rewrites for interoperability.
Case-by-case
High load, high temperature, mains voltage, moving machinery, battery systems, outdoor robotics, chemical exposure, customer-provided firmware, complex castings, or parts used by unknown third parties.
Not accepted
Medical devices, brakes/steering, aircraft, pressure vessels, gas/fuel components, fire/life-safety equipment, child safety products, regulated RF devices, or anything where failure could reasonably injure someone without specialist review.

Submit a part for review

Send what you know. We'll follow up by email with a feasibility read and, if it's a fit, a phased quote before any deep engineering work starts.

Heads up: based on what you checked, this may fall outside our accepted scope (see Operating Boundaries above). You can still submit — we'll review and tell you honestly whether it's a fit, refer you to a specialist, or explain what would need to change for us to take it on. We will not do unpaid engineering work on a job flagged this way without a written scope agreement.
