Terms of Service
GarageLabs Mechatronics LLC ("GarageLabs," "we," "us") provides reverse-engineering, custom part recreation, and related mechatronics services and products. By submitting a work order or purchasing a product through this site, you agree to the terms below.
- Custom work orders are quoted in phases (feasibility, engineering, prototype, production, test/QC, shipping). Work beyond an approved quote requires your written approval.
- A deposit is generally required before project-specific machining, PCB fabrication, specialty materials, or significant engineering time begins.
- Unless a quote explicitly states otherwise, native CAD files, editable drawings, Gerbers, schematics, firmware source, and manufacturing packages are GarageLabs work product and are not included in the delivered part — these are available only as a separately purchased or licensed deliverable.
- We reserve the right to decline or stop a project at any point if safety, legal, IP, or technical concerns become apparent, including after work has begun. Amounts already paid for completed phases are non-refundable; any deposit for unstarted work will be refunded.
- GarageLabs does not accept work involving medical devices, aircraft, vehicle brakes/steering, gas/fuel systems, pressure vessels, fire/life-safety equipment, child safety products, or any application where part failure could reasonably cause serious injury, without a documented specialist review.
- You warrant that you have the legal right to provide any sample part, photos, firmware, schematics, or equipment information you send us for evaluation.
Refund & Return Policy
Catalog products (fixed-price items purchased through the online store):
- If a catalog part arrives defective, doesn't match the listed specification, or is the wrong item, contact us within 14 days of delivery for a replacement or full refund.
- Because these are physical manufactured parts, we do not accept returns for correctly-delivered items due to buyer's remorse or incompatibility not disclosed in the listing — check the compatibility notes before ordering, or contact us first if you're unsure.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe, typically within 5-10 business days of approval.
Custom reverse-engineering work orders:
- Feasibility/diagnostic fees are non-refundable once the review is delivered — you're paying for the engineering assessment, not a guaranteed favorable outcome.
- Deposits for engineering, prototyping, or production are refundable only for the portion of work not yet started. Completed phases (design time, materials ordered, outsourced machining/PCB already placed) are non-refundable.
- If a delivered custom part does not match the agreed specification or fails documented fit/function testing, we will rework or refund the affected phase at our discretion.
Privacy
We collect the information you provide directly: name, email, phone, shipping address, equipment/part details, and photos submitted through the intake form or provided by email. Payment information for catalog purchases is collected and processed directly by Stripe — we do not receive or store your full card number.
- Information you submit is used only to evaluate, quote, and fulfill your request, and to communicate with you about it.
- We do not sell your information to third parties.
- We may retain anonymized measurements, CAD approaches, and design knowledge from completed jobs for future work, but not your personal contact information beyond what's needed for recordkeeping.
- Contact us at the email below if you want your information deleted from an inquiry that did not result in a paid job.
